2) CREATION MYTHS OF VARIOUS CULTURES :

When does myth become the truth? When reason leaves us with no other explanation!

HINDU BELIEFS: In Hinduism, the universe is millions of years old. In line with the Hindu belief in reincarnation, the universe is not the first or indeed the last universe.

For Hindus, the universe was created by Brahma, the creator who made the universe out of himself.

After Brahma created the world, it is the power of Vishnu which preserves the world and human beings.

As part of the cycle of birth, life, and death, it is Shiva who will ultimately destroy the universe. This is not necessarily bad as it might sound because it allows Brahma to start the process of creation all over again.

Very similar to the Christian story of the Trinity: Yahweh the father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ. Everything is destroyed in Christ’s second coming!

In the First Nations Beliefs, the world has been created five times; therefore, it also recycles. It is interesting that there is a Manitoulin Island with Lake Manitou in northern Lake Huron and Manitou Lake with Manitou Island just 45 minutes SE of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Manitou in Algonquin (Great Spirit). The perfect harmony of opposites just as the whole of the universe is a perfect harmony of opposites. The flawed 1830s Latter-day Saint’s prophet Joseph Smith spoke of a new world Zion, is that possible? What city is located between the two small towns of Paradise Hill & Paradise Valley? Coincidence or God’s perfectly planned Purpose?

This brings us to the Judeo-Christian beliefs of creation. It also suggests a recycling process. It many times refers to a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21:1, Isaiah 65:17, 2 Peter 3:13). Especially Revelation 1:8 — “I am the Alpha and the Omega”, says the Lord God, “who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty”. Yahweh - YHWH , the letters of the word encapsulate the three tenses of the verb to be - He was , He is , He shall be ! Always was and always will be , from everlasting to everlasting ! Even God may recycle !

Many cultural beliefs contribute to the truth of the universe but there is only one religion that brings us the complete truth .Even science suggests that the universe may recycle from a perfect singularity (0) out to an infinite living universe and then somehow return once again to a perfect singularity. Rebirth after rebirth!
